Selected 205th overall by the New York Rangers in the 2000 NHL Draft. Nicknamed "King Henrik", he is the only goaltender in NHL history to win 30 games in his first five seasons. He has been nominated for the Vezina Trophy three times and led Team Sweden to the gold medal in 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. He is considered an unorthodox butterfly style goalie because of the aggressive way he plays it.

Selected 28th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1985 NHL Draft. Ranked as the NYR all-time leader in wins (301) and appearances (666). He is considered of one the most successful American born goaltenders in history. Manned the crease in leading the NYR to the Stanley Cup title in 1994. Inducted into the US hockey Hall of Fame in 2008. Officially announced his retirement on September 4th, 2003.

Goalie prospects in the farm system :
CHAD JOHNSON. Age 25. Selected 125th overall (5R) by the Pittsburgh Penguins and traded to the NYR in 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Johnson made his debut in the NHL on Dec 30, 2009 vs Philadelphia.  
CAM TALBOT. Age 24. Signed as an undrafted free agent by the NYR on March 30, 2010.
SCOTT STAJCER. Age 20. Selected 140th overall (5R) by the NYR in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
JASON MISSIAEN. Age 21. Selected 116th overall (4R) by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
